On the Monday after the NYC trip, we spent the afternoon at George Washington's home, Mount Vernon. K was surprisingly very interested in touring the house and the grounds. She kept telling us that George Washington was the 1st President.

Of course, K found a horse.


The picture on the left is where Washington was originally entombed. Close to 30 years later, the new tomb was built and he and Martha were moved to their new and final resting place. The tomb itself holds many Washington family members.

By the time we made it back to the front of the house, the oxen had shed the cart and were having dinner.
